Back in the '80s, this popular recipe was called a "salad," but to me, it tasted more like a dessert. So I added my own twists to it and renamed it.
I served this to my Sewing Sisters last week and had to immediately give them the recipe. So, here it is for you as well.
Salad Dessert
Ingredients
2 8-oz. tub Cool Whip
1 3.4 0z pkg Instant French Vanilla pudding mix
2 8-oz strawberry yogurt cups
Blueberries, strawberries, and walnuts (I always toast my nuts by placing them in a skillet and cooking for a few minutes--watch them carefully!)
Directions
Mix together pudding mix and yogurt.
Add Cool Whip. Gently combine.
Chill one hour.
Add fruit and nuts just before serving.
VARIATIONS
The beauty of this recipe is that you can play with it. Get creative! Here are some ways I've made it:
Use pistachio pudding, vanilla yogurt, crushed (drained) pineapple, and pistachio nuts.
Use vanilla pudding, mango yogurt, mandarin oranges, and almonds.
Use banana pudding, vanilla yogurt, bananas, and pecans.
Chocolate pudding, vanilla yogurt, chocolate chips, and pecans.
Use your imagination and have fun! Be sure to let me know what you come up with either in the comments section below or on Facebook or Instagram.
